yoyoyo wassup my favourite doods blessed with big appetites!!!
i was just thinking and pondering while sitting here at my computer, and i suddenly remembered of the time, a few years ago when i first ate CREPES overseas. shucks, where was it.... in Europe i guess. phwoaar, sorry, let me wipe that bit of drool over there first...
and yes, back to this oh-so sumptious topic.
ahh crepes are uber-delicious!! i don't know where in singapore to get great crepes, unfortunately. all i can say is that crepes in europre taste superb. haha, but the one i ate, sigh, i remember very clearly, as though it was just yesterday....... (this is when the screen goes all foggy, and my eyes glaze over)
it was a cold winter's day on the busy streets of _______ (a country in europe). and i was standing around, feeling a bit....hungry (no surprise there.. :P). my family was also hanging around, waiting for the tour guide to bring us to another location, when we spotted IT. IT was a... mobile crepe stall! this guy in a push-cart was peddling those warm, fresh, wonderful-smelling crepes of his, with all sorts of fillings to choose from. chocolate, strawberries, jam, butter, cheese, all other kinds of fruits and sweet things.
and i looked at the stall, and i looked at the crepes, and i looked at the chocolate, and i looked at the bananas. then things just went, CLICK. so i ordered the crepes with chocolate and bananas (incidentally, this is the first time i ever ate anything with chocolate and banana) and boy was i BLOWN away!
yummy yummy. the taste was great. yeah, the all-jabbering juls finally gets stumped and chokes on her words. and i quote shakespeare "it stops me here (indicates a thump of the fist to the heart, alla Othello)" to recall the taste that i so experienced those years ago in _______ (a country in europe).
sooo, here ends my recount of my first encounter with great crepes. and thus, i thought it so kind of me to provide a simple recipe for crepes here, as well as a little smt about this delightful delicacy.

Crespelle Crepes
This is the base recipe for crespelle. They are better known by their French name crêpes, but they originate in Italy. In the 5th century A.D. Pope Gelasio had the cooks prepare the crepselle for visiting French pilgrims who were in Rome for Candelora celebration. Thus, this dish has a long history that finds its roots in Italy.
Serves: 4 to 6
Preparation time: 15 minutes plus one hour for the batter stand
Origin: Italy
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 cup milk
3/4 cup flour
pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Mix the ingredients in a large bowl with a wire whisk.
2. Let the batter stand in the refrigerator for one hour.
3. Grease a small nonstick fry pan with butter.
4. Heat the pan and then add about 3 Tbsp. of batter. Spread it thinly and cook on both sides. It shouldn't take longer than 30 seconds per crepe.
5. Stack them up on a plate and they are ready to be filled.
Notes: This recipe makes approximately 12 crepes. If you don't want to make them in a fry pan you can use a crepes maker like the one pictured here. Generally speaking they permit you to make a thinner crepe.
oh wells, better get off the computer b4 the drool covers the keyboard. tata guys, have a happy nat'll holiday, don't develop Holiday Syndrome after the break!
